Magdala Motor Lodge & Lakeside Restaurant

It was a lovely spot, the room was clean and styled well and comfortable

bathroom wasn’t up to scratch,cobwebs on hairdryer hanging up& didn’t use spa as didn’t look 100%. Restaurant wasn’t available first night & conflicting information about why.Outside area we thought was for visitors to enjoy found out later was part of restaurant, but tables were dirty &area unkept,so thought was just outside space for guest to enjoy. The day we left the area was being cleaned, so perhaps feedback or overheard conversations preempted this.also the 1st night we did leave 6 bottles on table & a tissue we used to clean table, were spoken to rudely about leaving a whole lot of rubbish. we should have disposed of this,but felt staff were very rude for a Small issue & entire stay not engaging & rude which was disappointing & borderline intimidating when negative feedback was given,I realize it was a challenging time with bushfires & small family business,but if you offer a service & it is advertised that is expected. I think giving open infornation that’s small family business & restaurant & bar is available but please make booking if would like to access as not viable to be open if guests don’t require or some type of information about this would be appreciated from guests as you assume if bar and restaurant advertised open between 6pm - 8.30 pm you expect that it is. Also, no apologies given about above &was actually told by staff we knew this was your 2nd choice & other accommodation must have fell through!! Incorrect,first choice from advertisement and a very cute place,a little more attention to detail & customer service would bring our review right up.Staff that want to be supportive and helpful to guests make a huge difference &just didn’t get that &the negative interactions really impacted a stay that was a memorial to a lost family member & time to connect with family from interstate.

1) The indoor pool was great, my son really enjoyed it. 2) All the rooms having lakeside view is fantastic. What a great idea to have the sliding flyscreen at the back door so we can get fresh air in the room and listening to the birds in the morning.

The bed was too soft for our liking.

The location of this motel is excellent. Very close to Grampians lookouts (25-minute drive). Woolworths and some decent restaurants are very near to the Model. Very convenient parking in front of the room. Overall, it was a great stay.

Not really. All went well.

Staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful. In house restaurant meals were quite nice. Indoor pool was brilliant, especially when the outside temp was over 40 degrees. Could still comfortably swim without the sunburn...

The best part is they clean your room everyday which is not expected. When request a replacing item such as towels or tissues, they responded quickly. The staff are super nice!

The mattress is too soft.

Unfortuntely the kitchen was out of action when I stayed. But the restuarant had beautiful views. We will return!

The freshly made food was fantastic, Guinness pie was exceptional. The team there were so friendly, the rooms were a great size, plenty of space for the kids. would definitely stay again.

Only used the room but is was large, plenty of room and table to work and also relax pour The room was very tidy and I would stay again

Shower entry could have been bigger

Exactly what you expect from a motel. Comfortable and spacious. Pretty view and relaxing watching the birds and ducks on the pond.

All good. No complaints.

Slightly out of town, back from the highway, big room, front and back door and the back door opening onto a lake and large grounds in which to wander.

Liked the pool for my kids. They had fun!

There were a lot of stains on the floor. Bedding was nice and clean though.
