Expanse Hotel

We booked a basic room but it was spacious and we even had a sea view from the two comfy chairs by the window. The location overlooking the sea is brilliant with easy access for walks on the promenade. We love the old fashioned comfortable lounge, which was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Excellent breakfast.

The bathroom was definitely in need of refurbishment but it was very clean, and there were lovely soft towels. The room had had a radiator that was too small and when I asked about extra heating I was advised to look out the extra heater in the wardrobe but there wasn't one there.

Breakfast was nice and a full English. The room was one that had been fully updated, beds extremely comfortable and a great modern bathroom with a bath and separate shower. We had dinner on 2 nights of our 3 night stay and the food was excellent. All the staff we saw were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for all it has to offer

The meals were delicious, service excellent, staff accommodating helpful and communicative, treating us with respect and pleasantness. Loved the warmth day and night, the views, comfy bed, the lovely balcony, variable lighting and having a fridge. Also private parking nearby.

the staff were absolutely lovely helpful and chatty. the hotel itself is looking a bit tired and we had no water to bathe or shower in the morning..i wasn’t well so i skipped breakfast. my partner went down and said it wasn’t great.. over all though definitely worth a stay

The location is perfect and the hotel is lovely but I wouldn’t want to stay there without a sea view, food was nice and the rooms were clean

It’s a little dated more so on the outside, it could do with a lick of paint and some tlc but I understand it’s an old hotel

I have stayed here before and find the location good for going for a walk. The breakfast is very good with plenty to choose from. The single room I stayed in has a good view of the beach but requires a new makeover to upgrade it.

Room

Staff were superb. The staff in the marine bar couldn't do enough for us. Set up the TV in the sitting room so we could watch the rugby and brought our meal up to us. Exceptional.

Long walk to centre

Have been many times before with my husband always have a great time this was my first time on my own I was very well looked after and would recommend the hotel for a relaxing experience

Everything was fantastic, no issues with anything . The bar lady in pub was amazing and very helpful and so friendly.Rooms were clean and spacious. 10/10 from me

The sea view and the little balcony I got

The window didn’t open and it was warm and the tap in the bathroom was constantly dripping. Empty wine bottle found in drawer

Lovely views, excellent friendly staff. Food excellent and well presented. Comfortable if dated room.

Hotel very clean. But starting to look a bit tired and dated.

The toilet flush needs replacing and the TV reception was intermittant.

All ok about from shower can't going out and TV never worked and room was far to hot to sleep

The food was excellent and the staff were lovely.

We were very pleased with our room and Food. We would consider coming back again in the future.
